Saylani Welfare International Trust is a non-government organization which focuses primarily on feeding the poor and homeless people. This organization was established on May, 1999. It was founded and headed by famous religious scholar Maulana Bashir Ahmed Farooqui. Sayalni does not only focuses on feeding poor and homeless people, but it also focuses on providing chances to people to live a dignified life and spreading happiness.
Saylani also provides residence to its workers and other needy people. Saylani apartments are also situated at Memon Goth, Karachi. There are two blocks having sixteen apartments in each block. Unfortunately, like all other areas, the residents of this area are also suffering from several hours of load shedding which badly affects the daily activities also.
The volunteers working under Sawayra visited Sayalani apartments on March 27th, 2021 for load analysis and roof measurement with the aim of installing solar panels.
The apartments to these residents are given on a monthly installment of five thousand rupees for a period of fifteen years.
Each apartment has three rooms, one lounge, one kitchen, two washrooms and a gallery. On an average, the apartments only had basic load e.g., lights, fans, fridge, LCD, washing machine and iron.
Following is the top view of the apartment which shows its roof’s layout which was needed to decide the suitable place for placing the solar panels.
Following is the picture of K-Electric meters of all the apartments which are located at the ground floor of the building.
The team of interns had gathered the real time usage of load of the apartments by using Iotawatt and now which can be seen in the picture below.
The following graph shows the usage of load with respect to time.
It can be seen that, the maximum load of one apartment is 1100 watts. Apart form this, the average load of one apartment is in between from 300 to 600 watts.
RFQ has been sent to the vendors of this project. After receiving the quotations from the vendors and finalizing it, equipment will be purchased. After purchasing the equipment, installation phase will begin in which solar installation will be done.
