Municipal Solid Waste, also referred to as MSW or trash or garbage, consists of everyday items that we throw away. These could include items such as grass and plant clippings, furniture, bottles, cans, food scraps. etc. These items come from our homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, and industrial facilities. Garbage collection is the first step is getting both inorganic and organic waste processed correctly. While inorganic waste can be processed and sold for reuse, organic waste needs to be decomposed to produce methane gas, an essential ingredient to running a small community level power plant. An added benefit is cleaner public spaces and neighborhoods.

The intent of this project is to identify and develop biomass energy options for Pakistan
