
Ammar Hasan
Ammar is working as a Senior Analysis and Planning Engineer at K-Electric where he is responsible for extending of the electricity distribution network (11 kV and 0.4 kV) in suburban/rural areas of the metropolis having no access to the electric utility and elevating existing power infrastructure by the installation of renewable energy resources under green power scheme. Previously, he has worked at Fatima Fertilizer Company where he served as an area engineer at the Fatima power plant and performed detailed testing of protection relays. Ammar has a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the eminent University of Pakistan known as NED University of Engineering and Technology. Khurram Abdullah
Khurram is Project Manager for Renewables Energy projects at Siddiqsons Energy Limited. He brings with him an experience of more than 14 years in project development and execution; plant operation and maintenance, in the petrochemical and energy sector in Pakistan. Khurram started his career in the Manufacturing Division of Engro Polymers and Chemicals Limited in 2002 and has held variety of role from Group Lead to Business head positions at different organizations. During his career he has worked in areas such as Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Projects and Business Development. Prior to joining Siddiqsons, Khurram was leading the techno commercial team at the New Ventures Division of Engro Powergen Limited.
Khurram completed his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from NED in year 2002 and thereon accomplished his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Institute of Business Management with majors in Finance. Email: khurram@sawayra.org
Omar Aquib Hasan
Omar is the Founder of Sawayra. He currently works as Envista, as Plant Manager in healthcare manufacturing. Omar has extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain. Additionally, he has broad management experience at Schlumberger, in Oil-Field Services. Omar also worked for a few years at General Electric in a variety of roles including Service Engineering Manager for GE Wind Energy Americas, based out of California. As part of working in Renewable Energy, Omar would regularly climb 250 feet to the nacelle of 1.5MW wind turbines and perform troubleshooting.
Omar got his undergraduate engineering degree from Imperial College, London. He received the CEGB Award in his Junior year. As the best overall student in the graduating Class, he also received the Bramwell Medal, handed out at a ceremony in Royal Albert Hall in London. Subsequently, Omar received a full scholarship to attend the Masters and PhD program in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. He has two US Patents and is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt. In his spare time, Omar works with refugees in Houston and is also a volunteer with the Texas Prison System.

Syed Fawad Raza
Fawad is currently Supply Chain Manager at Schlumberger, where he is twice recipient of the ‘Performed by Schlumberger’ Bronze Award, for highest impact New Product Development projects. Previously, he worked for Honeywell in Minnesota as a Supplier Quality Engineer and NPI Commodity Manager and at Siemens as a Sales Engineer. Fawad received his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from NED in Karachi and came to the US to received a Masters in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Wayne State University.
Fawad has been active in outreach in Minnesota and Houston working with various organizations to combat negative stereotypes about Islam and Muslims. An avid cricketer, he has represented NED University in Pakistan and State and Regional teams in the US. His. father, retired Professor Syed Masood Raza, was a recognized cricket coach in Pakistan and worked closely with likes of Zaheer Abbas, Mohsin Khan and Pakistani cricketers of the 70s. Maroof Syed
Maroof has 19+ years of entrepreneurship, management and investment experience. He is currently the Managing Partner at Karnybo Group responsible for global investment strategy in late-stage pre-IPO technology companies. Previously, he served as Senior Director of Engineering at Broadcom Corporation. Prior to that, he worked at Texas Instruments and Dialogic in various technical and management roles.
Maroof is the recipient of the 2017 Lucius N. Littauer Award from the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). He is also on the Board of Directors of Pakistan Innovation Foundation (PIF) and a Charter Member of the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs of North America (OPEN-Boston). Maroof has a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering (Signal Processing) from Rensselaer (RPI) and dual Masters from Harvard University. He lives with his wife and two kids in Boston, MA. Shehbaz Khan
Shehbaz is a Software Engineer at National Oilwell Varco where he develops and maintains the platform’s Linux images and its tools used in industrial control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI). Previously, he has interned with NetIQ where he worked on the reporting and automation team. Shehbaz has a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Houston. Muhammad Moeen Yaqoob
Moeen Yaqoob is our home solar kit project mentor. He is a digital technology enthusiast and evangelist, always finding out ways of making digital innovations a strategic enabler for business success.
He relishes new and diverse challenges, in particular involving understanding of emerging technologies and their potential uses in digital transformation. Motivated by the challenges of solving complex problems, passion for making things happen and experience of working across large organizations. Umair Khalid is the Secretary of Sawayra. He is working as a sourcing manager at Schlumberger. He is a well-rounded Supply chain professional with 10 years of experience within manufacturing & Supply Chain. Experience in strategic supply base development and developing road maps for successful supply. Utilized lean methodologies to earn tremendous savings for organizations.
